Trash Disposal activities include
processing, compacting, and hauling non-recyclable solid waste to a state-approved sanitary landfill. Loose solid waste generated in Wellesley, other than recyclable materials, is compacted into 50 cubic yard (CY), covered containers in the residential drive-through area and then loaded, along with residential bulky waste, (such as lumber, sofas, etc.) into 100-CY containers for transfer. Commercial waste is similarly processed through the transfer haul building after being weighed.
Toxic and Hazardous Household Waste Disposal
The RDF accepts household hazardous waste on a single collection day each year, typically the first Sunday in May. Click here for more information.
