Attendees: Denny Nackoney, Len Poitras, Miguel Lessing, Joan Gaughan, Diane Hall, Bob White
Citizens: Bob Seacrest
Olin College has given us permission to map and mark a section of the Sudbury Path through their campus. This change and the trial reroute in Centennial Reservation will be included in the latest map update. Mark Stockman has updated the three versions of the map, the pamphlet version, the map house version and the saleable version. Len will coordinate the printing of the maps. We will need 32 laminated maps for the map holders.
Diane Hall has joined the Trails Committee. Janet B will contact her with the formal steps required.
The Wellesley Conservation Council will use, with attribution, some of the map language in the updated Walks in Wellesley.
Town Meeting approved a pedestrian light and crosswalk at the Linden/Weston intersection. The light will be installed as part of the Weston Road improvement project sometime in late 2009 or early 2010.
The Wellesley HS seniors, Tyler Boyd and John Lansing, have complete the first of two minor trail reroutes in Boulder Brook. They continue to pick up trash on the trails around town.
Bob and Len will monitor the Sudbury Path in Jim Elliot's absence. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
I will work with Mike Quinn on mowing the trail reroute in Centennial Reservation which will avoid the wet trail section above the lower bridge. The DPW should also rototill the old trail and install a "Trail Closed" sign. Denny will meet with the Wetlands Committee to discuss moving the lower bridge to avoid this very wet area. Assuming their approval, we will move the bridge in the Fall.
We are still getting quotes to refurbish the two major signs. We anticipate refurbishing the signs in the Fall.
I will talk to Mike Quinn about getting a "No Dumping" sign for the Cochituate near Russell Rd. I will also contact the Selectmen about enforcing Bylaw 49.2, the current "No Dumping" regulation.
Bob Seacrest encouraged us to continue to work towards the repairing of the Lower Falls Railroad Bridge, The DCR has been contacted and they may have money in their budget to repair the Bridge. Denny will check on the status of the Newton abutter's lawsuit against the DCR on the ROW from the Charles River to the Riverside T stop.
The next meeting will be Tuesday May 27th at 7:30.
