MEETING MINUTES
TOWN HALL, LOWER LEVEL
September 7, 2006
Attendees: Denny Nackoney, Miguel Lessing, Jim Elliot, Joan Gaughan, Bob White
The Fall Walks schedule was finalized and fliers have been posted at all map houses. The first walk will be September 30th.
Trail Monitoring responsibility were discussed. The list is being fine-tuned and will be released shortly.
The Committee voted in favor of buying Trails Committee T-shirts. Miguel and Peter R will work at the details and get final costs.
The Wellesley Country Club's has refused to build a sidewalk between Forest St. and the first curb cut and the Planning Boards agreed that it was not necessary. The Committee agreed to keep the Sudbury in its current location alongside Wellesley Ave. We may address moving the Trail along the aqueduct and crossing Forest St. south of Wellesley Ave at a later time.
The Committee's Walk around Wellesley will start at 8:00 am this Saturday at the High School parking lot. The walk should take around 4 hours.
Denny presented the Morses Pond area map. Miguel has made a few minor suggestions. These maps will be placed in the Turner Rd map house.
The Kelley Field map house was vandalized, but fixed and reset by Denny and Peter R. This is the second time this summer that this map house has been vandalized.
Ben Zaehringer will construct the bridge in the Guernsey Sanctuary as part of his Eagle Scout project.
Steve Fader of the DPW has submitted is plans for the Bates School Bridge. His plan comes under budget and will be built by the DPW. The Committee will pay for the decking.
Bob will contact Hans Larsen regarding the Selectmen's plans for the Lower Falls Bridge. Scott Walker of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) will discuss this area and other trail projects and a meeting in the WFL at 6:30 on Wednesday September 20th. Please attend this meeting if you are available.
The next meeting will be Thursday October 19th at 7:30.
