Special to the Townsman
For your walking, jogging, and biking pleasure this spring your Trails Committee is offering some enticing new items. These are things your whole family can enjoy - and satisfaction is guaranteed.
You might start off the season with a scenic walk overlooking Morses Pond. This loop trail, one of our most recent, begins at the beach parking lot, follows the east shore of the pond, climbs inland, and continues through birch and pine woods.
Next, you might want to try something on the other side of town - a beautiful new path a round Rockridge Pond. It's accessible from paths leading in from Cliff Road, Hundreds Circle and Rockridge Road. This path was completed last November with major help from Wellesley Boy Scouts.
We're also glad to announce that the section of the Sudbury Aqueduct crossing Fuller Brook is once again passable after having been closed briefly for construction.
Finally, we have a full course of morning guided spring walks, including two new routes. They kick off on Saturday, May 1, with a Centennial Park walk to which dogs are invited. The second walk, along the new Guernsey Path, takes place on Wednesday, May 5. This path is stroller accessible and therefore ideal for walkers with preschool children. The third and final walks - Morses Pond and Boulder Brook - are scheduled for Saturday mornings, May 22 and June 5, respectively.
Please watch the Townsman Community Bulletin Board for dates, times, and details on each walk. Information about these and other Trails Committee events is also available 24/7 on our Web site.
We look forward to seeing you!
