Adopt a Hydrant
As the Department of Public Works (DPW) mobilizes for another winter storm, the DPW and Wellesley Fire-Rescue Department are asking for your assistance in clearing fire hydrants of snow in your neighborhood. There are over 1,400 hydrants in Wellesley and each one is potentially vital in the event of an emergency.

Adopting a hydrant is as simple as 4 easy steps:

1. Click the link below to visit our Adopt a Hydrant map. This is a new system, so if you participated in this program last winter, please visit the map and update your adopted hydrants!
2. Expand the Find tab 252014_75531_0.png and enter your address in the space provided to zoom to your neighborhood
3. Click on the Adopt a Hydrant button 252014_75549_1.png and then click any RED hydrant to adopt it
4. Enter your information in the pop-up form and click “Update”

If you’re ready to get started, click on the link below… Please be careful and aware of roadway traffic, and thank you for volunteering to keep our neighborhoods safe!
