        **  ADMINISTRATIVE/ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT  **
        

Reporting to the Chief of Police, the Administrative/Accounting Assistant performs a variety of administrative, accounting, secretarial, and clerical tasks involved in processing the Department's weekly payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintaining the Department's financial records.  The incumbent interacts with public and private agencies, Town boards, committees and departments, and the general public and must obtain a thorough knowledge of the Police Department.  Minimum requirements include an Associate's Degree from a business, accounting, secretarial or related program, three years experience in an office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; accounting experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular with Microsoft Excel; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and the ability to handle extremely confidential information.  Experience in a municipal or state government or law enforcement agency and knowledge of the Massachusetts Public Record Laws and of Criminal Offender Record Information Laws a plus.  FY 12 wage range is $19.51 - $24.30/hour.  Send a cover letter and resume to the Human Resources Department, Town Hall, 525 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482 or e-mail as a Word document to hr@wellesleyma.gov by May 17, 2012.  AA/EEO



**  ASSISTANT PLANNING DIRECTOR  **


The Assistant Planning Director supports the Planning Director in carrying out municipal planning, zoning and subdivision programs under the provisions of state law and the Town of Wellesley Bylaws.  The incumbent performs a variety of complex technical and professional work in the current and long range planning of the Town, the development of land use, and implementation of policies and regulations; assists the Director in staff and consultant supervision; provides staff support for the Planning Board; and serves as department head in the Director's absence.

The work requires frequent contact with multiple constituencies and the ability to discuss issues, provide information and technical assistance, and explain regulations and Departmental policies clearly and courteously, even in contentious situations.

Requires a Master's Degree in Municipal Planning or related field or equivalent; minimum of three years of municipal planning experience and one year of supervisory experience; working knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal planning; knowledge of Massachusetts municipal planning, zoning and subdivision laws and regulations and of Massachusetts procurement law and contract management; the ability to acquire working knowledge of the Town's General Bylaws and Zoning Bylaws; the ability to interact effectively with the general public and strong verbal and oral communication skills; and a valid driver's license.  FY 13 salary range is $51,990 - $78,810.

**  ON-CALL NURSE  **

The Health Department is seeking on-call nurses to assist with the administration of vaccines, well-care clinics, home-bound visits, etc.  Qualified individuals must have a BS in Nursing, a valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license, two years of nursing experience, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.  $26/hour.

**  SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS  **

Excellent opportunity for individuals concerned about the safety of children.  The Town of Wellesley is currently looking to hire School Crossing Guards.  We are seeking dependable individuals to assure the safety of school children crossing the streets as they go to and from school. Interested individuals need not be Wellesley residents.  The morning shift is from 7:55 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. and the afternoon shift is generally from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.  On Wednesdays, the afternoon shift is from 12:05 p.m. to 12:35 p.m.    Salary is $13.87/hour plus a $5.00 stipend for each shift.  Fresh air and smiling children's faces are included.  Please apply at the Human Resources Department, Town Hall, 525 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482.  AA/EOE
